The purchasing specialist will take direction from the purchasing manager and will work along with other members of the department. This role requires an energetic, detail-oriented and team player professional who can take direction and work expediently to assure accuracy of all transactions.
Responsibilities Primary Accountabilities:
This role will be responsible for various aspects of procurement including:
Receive and process purchase requisitions from various departmentsRequest / review vendor quotes as requiredPrepare and place purchase orders with vendors in accordance lead times and operational requirementsObtain order confirmations to ensure services and/or materials are being scheduled per order requestsExpedite orders to track timely receipt of goods or servicesRequest and verify BOL/packing slips for order accuracy – other documents, if applicable, such as COA’s, lab results, etc.Review vendor inventories and update to match within SAP.New material set-up - initiate and monitor until completeNew vendor set-up – initiate and monitor until completeMaintain Approved Supplier Program records as well as request subsequent QA related documentsResolve invoice discrepancies and provide appropriate accounting instructions for cost variance allocationsPrepare return orders for non-compliant products and ensure credits or invoice adjustments are submitted to Accounts PayableMaintain accurate purchase transaction history through organized purchasing and vendor records, both in SAP and offline, on an ongoing basis. All work to be executed in compliance with department policies and procedures, which are subject to periodic internal and third-party auditsReview open purchase orders to ensure goods/services are received or purchase orders are cancelled in a timely manner.This role will also participate in the following purchasing functions:
Research qualified vendors as neededVendor evaluation periodicallySupply Organization Projects as participation is requestedSupport the Purchasing Manager on operational/administrative tasks as assigned.Other duties that are reasonable and associated with the above essential functions of the job.Supervisory Duties:

Qualifications Experience, Knowledge, & Skills You Bring: Prior experience in administrative role preferredAble to work independently or in a team environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsWork effectively using good time management skillsComputer literate in Microsoft Office and understanding of SAPFollow and uphold all company and ethical policiesWillingness to work additional hours as neededWhat You’ll Need to Succeed: Education & Certification:Bachelor’s degree preferredPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time, ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipmentMust be able to climb stairsMust be able to lift 25 poundsRequires climbing, standing, stooping, twisting, lifting and other physical movements to perform jobWork Environment:Office environment in an industrial plant with related noise and temperaturesTravel Requirements:•

Hiring Pay Scale: $ 24.00 to $27.00 / HR
