Purchasing Supervisor

Purchasing Supervisor: 

Primary Function- The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for procuring supplies and services while managing inventories. This role oversees daily stock replenishment and short-term buying activities to support ongoing operations. Additionally, the position supervises the daily activities of the Purchasing Specialists as well as the Stock Room Coordinators and leads the Purchasing Department in the absence of the Purchasing Manager.

General supplies: $4.5M Company inventories: $8.5M

Typical Duties:

Supervise the activities of Purchasing Specialist and Stock Room personnel. Oversee and supervise daily operations of the Purchasing & Supply Department. Generate purchase orders (POs) to restock drill accessories and other requested items while engaging with the company vendor base. Utilize the company purchase card for field purchases with outside vendors. Collaborate with Divisional and Departmental staff to place specialty item orders. Submit, track, and report warranty claims with vendors. Review and authorize repair quotes for departmental and rental equipment. Assist in coordinating construction equipment rentals and track delivery and return to vendors. Assist Stock Room Coordinators with shipping and receiving as needed. Assist Stock Room Coordinators with the inventory and management of drill accessories. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Ability to work in a fast-paced, geographically diverse company while developing professional relationships with Senior Leadership, Divisional Managers, and their teams, as well as other Departmental Managers and supporting staff. These groups represent the Purchasing and Supply Internal Customers. Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Warehouse Management Systems experience strongly preferred. Strong communication and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to think critically, take initiative, and operate with a sense of urgency. Minimum 5 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply, or Logistics setting. Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Experience supervising a team across various geographic locations a plus.

Job Requirements: 

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Ability to lift 25 - 50 lbs. Ability to operate a forklift. Office work environment. Out-of-town/state travel. Work hours are generally during the typical work week. Specific projects, off-site travel, meetings, and other obligations may require weekend and evening availability. Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $70,000-$90,000/year DOE
