**THE POSITION** As a Purification Shift Technician, you'll play a crucial role in the large-scale purification of antigens used in FMD and BTV vaccine production. You'll be working in a graded laboratory within the restricted area of our production plant in Pirbright, adhering to the highest standards of UK and Boehringer Ingelheim’s HSE, GMP, and bio-security regulations. This role requires flexibility, including weekend shift cover, and collaboration across departments. This is a fully site based role in Pirbright. **TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES** • Manufacture purified antigens for FMD and BTV vaccines efficiently and cost-effectively, meeting all HSE, GMP, and biosecurity standards • Operate and maintain process plant equipment according to standard operating procedures • Conduct laboratory tests throughout the production process, recording findings accurately • Document deviations and investigations, liaising with QA as needed • Perform aseptic manipulations of products • Monitor and record data from process plant instrumentation and laboratory equipment, taking remedial action when necessary • Collaborate with shift technicians to ensure smooth transitions between shifts • Provide shift cover, including weekends, when other technicians are unavailable • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory, participating in the cleaning rota • Engage fully with CI and PSQDC processes **REQUIREMENTS** • Experience in pharmaceutical production • Strong IT skills • Ability to work autonomously, safely, and methodically • Experience with industrial-scale manufacturing under a quality system • Excellent interpersonal skills • Results-focused with flexibility to adapt to change • Problem-solving mindset • Multitasking and cross-functional capabilities **WHY THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK** Boehringer Ingelheim has been recognised as a Top Employer in the UK.
