A career within PwC Private Tax Services will provide the opportunity to help private companies with a wide range of business advisory needs such as audit, tax compliance, and planning to help improve their operational efficiency and to free up time that can be spent focusing on business strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the entire business life cycle of a private company from inception to growth, maturity and transition. Our team helps our clients design and implement personal and customized service plans that are unique to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high net worth individuals. You’ll help the team focus on key issues like wealth management, compliance, cash flow management, equity expansion, divestiture and exit strategies.Meaningful work you’ll be part of
As a PwC Private Tax Senior Advisor, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers. You’ll help solve business issues, delivering high quality client service and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conduct estate, trust and shareholder planning for Canadian family-owned private businesses
Develop Canadian tax planning strategies for private companies, including compensation and distribution planning for Canadian-controlled private trusts and corporations
Prepare and review Canadian income tax returns (T1, T3 and T5) for Canadian shareholders, and assist with tax expenses, financial statements and memos
Compile client information and prepare client files
Document, research and follow up on client tax issues
Use feedback and reflection to develop self-awareness, learn about personal strengths and address development areas
Delegate to others to provide stretch opportunities and coaching to help deliver results
Develop new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problems
Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the business area
Review your work and that of others for quality, accuracy and relevance
Share relevant specialized publications
Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing and connecting with others
Read situations and modify your behavior and approach to build diverse, high-quality relationships
Experience and skills you'll use to solve
Masters in Taxation, Indepth Tax training, or be in the process of obtaining one of these qualifications
CPA designation considered an asset
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate ideas
Highly detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills; an ability to think broadly and to ask questions about data, analyses and other information to deliver quality to our clients
Share and collaborate effectively with others, building relationships that are genuine and rooted in trust
Ability to easily adapt and prioritize, demonstrating project management skills to handle changing priorities
An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work
A demonstrated commitment to value differences and working alongside diverse people and perspectives
The successful candidate requires fluency in English, in addition to French as they will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking clients, colleagues and/or stakeholders during the course of their employment with PwC Canada
