Business Unit: Blackstone’s Private Wealth Solutions (PWS) Legal group, with a focus on registered funds within Blackstone’s industry leading Credit & Insurance (BXCI) and Real Estate groups.
This role will sit within a fast growing and dynamic business and involve product structuring and launching registered funds, managing the day-to-day legal matters for new and existing registered funds, and assisting the other senior lawyers within PWS Legal with strategic projects.
Blackstone’s PWS group represents $250 billion of Blackstone’s $1.1 trillion of AUM and is a key growth driver for the firm. The individual investor space is at the epicenter of investment management and Blackstone’s PWS group is one of the most successful businesses of its kind in the industry. PWS is highly entrepreneurial and has a stated goal of hitting $1 trillion in AUM within the business unit, and the PWS Legal team is core to this mission.
Job Description:
This role will work on a variety of interesting and cutting-edge legal and general corporate matters, with a focus on the formation and ongoing management of credit and real estate registered funds.
Primary job responsibilities will include:
Participating in the design and launch of newly registered funds
Overseeing the ongoing day-to-day management of new and existing registered funds.
Assisting leaders with project management and fund formation matters and participating in product development of various investment structures across multiple jurisdictions.
Participating in the creation and management of registered fund board materials.
Managing regulatory filings (e.g., 8-Ks, 10-Q/Ks, Form 10s, N-2s, N-CSRs, and prospectus updates) and assisting with day-to-day oversight of legal matters.
Assisting with the development of a marketing and fundraising plan for registered funds.
Working with the in-house Legal & Compliance team and external counsel to monitor and implement legal and regulatory developments that impact the registered funds.
Providing regulatory and legal advice to investment professionals and business personnel, including preparation of reports for the investment team and senior management.
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience practicing law as a law firm associate or an in-house counsel, preferably focused on registered funds / investment management law. Capital markets or similar public company background would also be suitable.
Familiarity working on BDCs and interval funds is preferred but not required.
Experience with public company filings is required.
Creative problem solver with a can-do attitude.

Expected annual base salary range:
$150,000 - $250,000Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
Additional compensation: Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with the advertised role.
