This role is hybrid and requires you to be at Markham for minimum 2-3 days per week - subject to change at any time.

We are looking for a collaborative and resourceful Software Engineer. You are dedicated, naturally inquisitive and are comfortable in a fast-paced environment. This role will be part of our Software Engineering Group, and you will be responsible for analysis, design and implementation in a high-performing, experienced team. We embrace a culture challenging the status quo and constantly look to efficiently simplify processes, technology, and workflow.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Flask-based web applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy new features.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications.
• Develop and review software requirements, build design documents, write programs, and package, test, configure, and deploy software.
• Efficiently perform debugging and unit testing of code before turning it over to Quality Assurance (QA).
• Optimize application performance and scalability.
• Provide outstanding technical support to client services to determine resolutions for client issues.
• Review and build system, software, and functional design specifications efficiently.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 5+ years of experience in Python Development
• 5+ Years of experience in JavaScript
• 5+ Years of experience in Postgres
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language and the Flask framework
• Expertise with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Understanding of RESTful API design principles
• Ability to efficiently read code in other languages and reverse engineer products
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Insurance knowledge an asset
