The Role

We seek an experienced software development resource to assume the position of Software Developer II within Lumen’s Network and Platform Automation Team. The position holder will be expected to lead and drive software development activities, leveraging a wide range of technologies to deliver efficiency gains for the wider Operations Organizations via enhanced automation. These efforts will require cross-functional working at both the business process and technical level knowledge to integrate application requirements with wider enterprise toolsets and applications.

Implement value-added activities that drive efficiency and consistency.  All automation and project work must be accompanied by extensive supporting documentation, and you will be required to oversee all elements of DevOps, removing waste to increase operational efficiency.

The Main Responsibilities Develop applications within CI/CD pipelines to automate the building and deployment of complex software solutions.  Develop complex, mission-critical automated solutions to support the Managed Hosting and Managed Networks Services.Perform event resolution automation, running remediation or information gathering scripts, and capturing various metrics for reporting.Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code. Designing and implementing low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications and integrating user-facing elements developed by light front-end developers with a heavy focus on backend logic.Implement security and data protection across all code bases while integrating with appropriate/performant data storage solutions.Work with IT and operations staff to determine automation opportunities and integration points within IT systems, including ticketing system to ticketing system (e-bonding), event management, change management, service provisioning, and orchestration. Analyze and negotiate with engineers and management to implement new application features for our products and translate requirements into actionable requirements.Update wikis, spreadsheets, tickets, user-focused documentation, code documentation, etc. Perform peer review of code and update and maintain application platforms.Participate in all aspects of sprint planning to determine and execute development activities. This includes sprint planning, story pointing, sprint story assignments, story refinement, daily scrums, and sprint retrospectives.Participate in emergency calls, reacting to and resolving outages affecting production automation activities where required.What We Look For in a Candidate Linux, Python, JavaScript, BASH or equivalent, YAML, Postgres DB, Redis, Temporal.io, ServiceNow Flow-Designer, GoLang, Jira/Confluence.Designing full-stack web applications and integrations (Open API, REST, SOAP, RPC, web sockets, HTTPS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Temporal.io ).Proven experience standardizing DevOps pipelines (Postman, Jenkins, SonarQube, GitHub, Swagger/Hub).Containerized solutions (eg. Docker Swarm/K8).Proven experience designing and driving the subsequent delivery of infrastructure and processes that drive and house enterprise-scale DevOps delivery.A proven track record of taking manual activities and streamlining their implementation via automated techniques in a large-scale operational environment, executed in alignment with established Incident, Provisioning, and Change Management processes.Documentation skills for all audiences (Design Documents, Logic Flows, Data Modeling, Project Plans, Support Documents).GSA Certification a plus Accomplished at building strong interpersonal relationships and positive customer experience.

 Compensation This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$66,375 - $88,500 in these states: MO
