To strengthen our agile Life Science Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry team, we are looking for a motivated Python Developer. If you enjoy working with a multidisciplinary, multicultural, and worldwide team, this is your job.
A day in the Life:Join our dynamic team and embark on an exciting journey filled with diverse tasks and responsibilities.
Your primary focus will be on development and maintenance embedded software for controlling mass spectrometers, proactively prioritize, estimate work items and analyzing data to solve complex technical problems. Working closely with our software architect and software colleagues, you will play a vital role in deriving detailed software technical specifications and overseeing all stages of software development, from initial research to customer release.
You will be responsible for independent development of complex concepts according to given architectures using modern technologies and programming patterns. Additionally, you will provide mentorship and support to software colleagues, and multi-functional teams in developing Mass Spectrometer instrument.
Responsibilities
Conception and implementation of sophisticated multithreading requirements.
Abstraction of demanding requirements in mathematical algorithms and their implementation.
Design and development of test algorithms.
Actively prototype, implement and test new and existing software features, prioritizing software quality and striving for zero defects to ensure the reliability and robustness of the software.
Work closely with your software colleagues to address software defects/issues in a timely manner.
Generate documentation as part of the development process, ensuring clear and comprehensive documentation.
Apply principles, rules, and strategies related to intellectual property when drafting invention disclosures, patents, publications, and presentations, ensuring the protection of innovative ideas and technologies
Communicate software development progress verbally and in writing to reporting and other software colleagues.
Represent the company in interactions with external customers and collaborators.
This position responsibilities split (90% hands-on and remaining administrative activities)
Traveling to Bremen, Germany will be occasionally required
Experience and EducationExperience with embedded software development for complex software architectures.
University degree in computer or natural sciences.
At least 5-6 years of experience with Python and Data analysis (with PhD 2 years of experience).
Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesExcellent knowledge of Python or/and C++ and strong background in embedded software development.
Willingness to learn about mass spectrometry applications.
