Institutional Securities Technology (IST) develops and oversees the overall technology strategy and bespoke technology solutions to drive and enable the institutional businesses and enterprise-wide functions. IST’s ‘clients’ include Fixed Income, Equities, Commodities, Investment Banking, Research, Prime Brokerage and Global Capital Markets.
ESTAR
Develops trading Analytics platform for IST, structured OTC Trading, Market Making risk platform
for IED
The EST department is responsible for the technology solutions required by the hugely successful global Equity Swaps business, supporting OTC Delta One Structured Products including Equity Swap Portfolio, Single Name and Index derivatives businesses.
A wide variety of technologies are in use, including UI, server side, a variety of relational database and document stores and several messaging solutions. High volumes and large datasets are the normal and systems are designed to be able to both process current volumes, but also scale horizontally.
With significantly increasing trading volumes and a healthy backlog of features, EST are looking to expand their global team to support a number of development programmes.

What you’ll do in the role:
This is a hands-on technical Environment Manager (VP lead) position in the Delta One Structured Products IT group. This is a global middle-office team that supports the global OTC Equity Swap Portfolio, Single Name, and Index derivative businesses. This is an exciting role for a self-starter who has a thirst for new challenges as well as new technologies.
Key responsibilities for this role include –
• Day-to-day management of a non-production environment support team.
• Drive the environment stability agenda, lay the foundations for adoption of automation and meeting Firm’s infrastructure hygiene requirements.
• Leading projects / initiatives front-to-back from planning, designing to implementation and go-live.
• Liaise with stakeholders and global team members, fostering an inclusive and positive working environment in the team.
The candidate should demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for the delivery of initiatives / projects. The candidate should possess good analytical skills, strong software engineering skills, a logical approach to problem solving, be able to work in a fast-paced environment liaising with demanding stakeholders to understand complex requirements, have experience in complex data domains and be able to prioritize work under pressure with minimal supervision. To succeed, the candidate will need to be strong technically, actively hands-on with an ability to understand low level detail and logic, a Unix / Linux background and a strong Python experience.

• RDBMS (Sybase and/or DB2) with ability to write simple SQL queries
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good problem solving and analytical skills with strong knowledge of Data Structures/Algorithms
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge of Ansible, Jenkins and CI/CD or similar tools and methods
• Knowledge of DevOps
• Foundations in server-side Java running on Linux
• Knowledge of the Equity Derivatives business
• An interest to learn the business supported by the applications.
