Python Software Engineer in Data (Jun / Mid / Snr)

Overview

Document Ingestion is a top priority for Chubb. We are looking for an innovative, results-oriented Software Engineer who has an ambition to contribute to the success of our Document Ingestion program. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, creative, and they will be able to independently contribute to our major strategic initiative. 

 

You will be responsible for contributing to the development and launch of solution across the Domain and/or Platform, supporting our overall strategy by helping define product features, helping build system architecture, and spearheading the best practices that enable a quality product.  

Responsibilities:

Work with an agile team of software developers, data engineers, QA experts, and data analysts to deliver high-quality software that follows best engineering practices. Support the development and launch of software across the Document Ingestion pipeline, assisting in defining product features, championing best practices, and implementing system architecture to build a quality product. Support & work closely with Tech Leads to troubleshoot and provide technical solutions. Collaborate with sister teams to improve pluggable and reusable software components. Participate in solutioning and estimation activities for upcoming opportunities. Assist in ensuring an agile implementation process that adheres to established standards and release cycles.

Qualifications

Education in engineering, data, mathematics, business or information management Experience in software engineering using Python (pytest, REST APIs, FastAPI, microservices) Exposure to asynchronous systems and Apache Kafka Good SQL and familiarity with relational databases Comfort in a dynamic and fast-moving work environment Preferable working knowledge of version control software (GitHub or subversion) Preferable experience throughout SDLC, unit testing, CI/CD (Jenkins, Jira, docker etc.) Preferable experience with Cloud Computing (Azure, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes) Excellent verbal, written & interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus points for experience with:

Insurance domain or financial services in general Web technologies (Angular, React, Nodejs, JS, HTML etc.) Java (Spring MVC, Spring Boot) Test automation software (Selenium, Playwright)
