We are looking for a Python Developer to join our Data Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving our data technology for our enterprise-class applications. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with web development, ETL process, database architecture and a solid understanding of data processing using Python.

 

Essential Duties and Functions

Writing “clean”, well-designed codeProducing detailed specificationsDeveloping and deploying new features using Agile and similar methodologiesSupporting production processing by troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise around data processing, performance and set-upDeveloping and maintaining the software responsible for the manipulation of data including parsing, matching loading and publishing. streamline, introduce efficiencies, eliminate errors and increase accuracyDesigning, developing and maintaining efficient and robust ETL workflows which produce data extracts and process feeds between various internal and third-party partnersTroubleshooting, testing and maintaining the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionalityContributing in all phases of the development lifecycle, including participating in Pull request process for peer code reviewFollowing industry best practices

 

Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills

4+ years of full-stack web development3+ years of database design and development, specifically with Postgres and Python3+ years working with web frameworks such as Flask, Django TornadoBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or equivalent experienceData integration and a good understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and data mart conceptsSolid understanding of relational databases and SQLWorking with technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptGit or other version control toolsRESTful API design and integrationsAutomation and continuous integrationsAgile environment and testing frameworks (eg. unittest/pytest)Comfortable with basic shell scripting in a Unix environmentDevelopment with Celery or experience with pub/sub pattern (ie.RabbitMQ)Knowledge of AWS or similar cloud computing platformsORM Implementation (SQLAlchemy)Deploy web infrastructure using Apache, Nginx, gunicorn, or u WSGIFamiliarity with scheduling frameworks, preferably Airflow
