Position Summary

Intermedia is looking for an experienced QA Test Engineer with a demonstrated track record of delivering quality software in a fast-paced agile environment. As a Voice QA Engineer, you will design and execute a variety of manual and automated test procedures that verify the integrity and functionality of our Hosted PBX, phone provisioning software, and IP phone hardware prior to deployment on Intermedia’s production network.

This includes performing comprehensive testing on various IP phone models from different vendors, ensuring feature stability, call quality, and seamless integration with our systems. Alongside using the product’s extensive support tools, you will also utilize industry standard tools like Wireshark to capture and analyze network traffic, identifying and troubleshooting issues related to call quality, connectivity, and protocol compliance.

Responsibilities

Perform integration and regression testing on a variety of IP phone models from different vendors to ensure stable feature functionality across various firmware iterations. Use Wireshark to capture and analyze network traffic during phone hardware testing, identifying and troubleshooting issues related to call quality, connectivity, and compliance Analyze product design and requirements specifications, and translate them into a detailed, methodical testing strategy Document, report, and track software defects using Jira Manage and maintain multiple QA projects with minimal guidance Work remotely as part of an integrated team Install, configure, deploy and debug software using an enterprise-level test lab Utilize black, white, and gray-box techniques to ensure quality and functionality of Voice systems and software

Required Skills

3+ Years professional QA experience in a complex software development environment Fundamental understanding of network technologies, including TCP/IP, NAT, DHCP, and subnetting, along with proficiency in using related tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark Hands-on experience testing in Linux and Windows environments Demonstrated understanding of the complete software development lifecycle process Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Ability to triage issues on-the-fly, react well to changes, and multi-task on multiple products and projects.

Desired Skills

Telco/VOIP experience desired Familiarity with HTTP and SIP protocols desired
