QA Lab Technician - 3rd Shift

Quanex is looking for a Quality Assurance Technician - 3rd Shift to join our team in Cambridge, Ohio.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone interested in conducting experiments and testing that will ensure we produce an outstanding product for our customers. This position will be responsible for the assurance of product quality through the completion of lab tests, maintenance of the lab environment, and management of certificates of analysis. (COA).

What Success Looks Like:

Complete daily Quality Assurance testing of bulk materials and finished products. Report results and communicate nonconformance to the appropriate parties. Ensure required samples are overnighted to Solon for additional testing Properly operate, maintain, and when necessary, calibrate lab test equipment, order consumable lab supplies and maintain an appropriate inventory. Maintain the QA lab and lab storage area is kept clean and organized to ensure safety and productivity and to present a positive image to visitors. Receive and approve Certificates of Analysis (COA’s) for all incoming raw materials.  Report non conformances to the appropriate product group leader. Contact suppliers when product arrives without accompanying COA’S Log incoming COA test data in MS Excel for tracking and trending purposes. Utilize test results to create outgoing product COA’S for customers. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems related to job responsibilities. Knowledge of Globally Harmonized System (GHS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS). Ability to succeed within a team environment to achieve production goals and objectives.

Your Credentials:

One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment High School or GED preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel  Communication Skills, written and verbal Willing to work overtime including weekends Close visual work required. Ability to read information in a variety of formats

The hourly wage for this position $18.70 per hour, commensurate with experience; $1.00 shift differential
