As a Lab Technician, you will test batches of liquid adhesive products for the transportation industry.
This position works a Monday - Friday, 8 hour, Third shift fixed schedule, with a 30 minute unpaid lunch.
RESPONSIBILITIES DESCRIPTION
Your key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Analysis of production samples for conformance with specifications using standard operating or non-routine procedures.
Calibration and qualification of laboratory equipment.
Perform routine maintenance on analytical equipment, as well as troubleshooting, with minimum supervision.
Communicate results effectively to stakeholders and other interested parties.
Data entry and process confirmation for raw materials and finished products in LIMS and SAP
Support special projects as needed, such as method development, validation, or Gage R&R studies.
Assist in quality investigations of non-conforming products.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED
Proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word and Excel)
Excellent observational and record keeping skills with attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a science field (such as Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Biology or other sciences) or, 3-5 years of experience in a lab environment.
Experience with or knowledge of laboratory equipment (such as: Instron universal testing machine, gas chromatographs, FTIRs, moisture balances, etc.)
Experience with lab-scale rubber mills and compression molding for preparation of test parts
Familiar with ISO-9001 Quality System or equivalent
Familiar with LIMS and SAP systems
In addition, successful candidate must meet the following physical qualifications, with or without accommodation:
Willing and able to handle chemicals
Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as safety shoes, hardhat, flame-resistant clothing, protective eyewear, and/or face shields, as required.
Willing and able to complete work that involves occasionally reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive motion and/or repetitive lifting and to lift approximately 20-25 lbs.
Able to stand for extended periods of time in a laboratory setting.
Able to handle and manipulate glassware and pipettes.
Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals)
Willing and able to work overtime, including holidays, weekends, and call-ins (sometimes on short notice), if required.
*Relocation is not available for this role.
