A diverse, qualified, and engaged talent base is the key to our success. **Summary** The QA Manager will manage the plant’s quality assurance inspecting and auditing programs and quality assurance testing activities through subordinates. Ensures that department employees are trained properly, are in possession of any required technical qualifications, are working in proper jobs, are properly compensated, and benefited, are protected from harm or injury in the workplace, and that the departments functional requirements are met in a timely fashion. **Duties and Responsibilities** _To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform the following essential duties satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned to address business needs and changing business practices._ + Manages the plant’s quality assurance inspecting and auditing programs and quality assurance testing activities through department subordinates. + Ensures that department employees receive the training that is necessary for the proper performance of their jobs and that they possess or acquire the necessary technical qualifications. + Ensures that department employees are compensated and benefited properly in accordance with the plant’s wage/salary program and benefit program. + Ensures that department employees are protected from harm or injury in the workplace and that the work areas are clean and safe and environmentally sound. + Participates in the establishment of quality specifications and standards for raw materials, works-in-progress, specialty items, vendor-supplied items, and finished products. + Coordinates quality assurance activities with customer representative(s) to develop their confidence in and their acceptance of final products which meet Greenbrier’s quality standards. + Ensures that production adheres to AAR quality assurance policies and regulations. + Assesses workforce requirements and creates plan to fill current and future needs. + Performs other duties as directed by the Senior Quality Assurance Manager. **Qualifications** _The following generally describes requirements to successfully perform the assigned duties._ **Minimum Qualifications** + Two years in a supervisory or managerial role. + Requires working knowledge of quality systems, root cause analysis, and statistical process control. + Must be computer literate **Preferred Qualifications** + Prefer degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent and five years’ experience in quality assurance or engineering **Work Environment and Physical Requirements** **Work Environment** _The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
