This position supports the operations team at Kansas Protein Foods (KPF) by monitoring and reporting product quality and food safety parameters. 
 
Essential Job Functions: Open to training by an experienced staff member to perform analyses independentlySupports operations cleaning activities Knowledge of process control limitsKnowledge of product specificationsAble to perform wet chemistry analysisAble to initialize, start instruments and prepare samples as needed for the equipment analysisAble to perform lab verification tasks per designated schedule/frequencyAble to perform process verification tasks per designated schedule/frequencyAble to utilize the Total Lab Client software and enter data for corresponding analysisAble to read the applicable SDS and understands the safety hazards present for the analyses performedResponsible to follow lab master sanitation schedule and maintain cleanliness of the laboratoryResponsible to provide sanitation in the plant in specified areasResponsible to dispose of lab waste to designated areasKnowledge of the actions taken towards deviations and out of specification productsResponsible to communicate OOS products to QA Manager and/or production staffNotify the QA Manager or designee of any lab supplies & chemicals needsDemonstrates compliance to corporate quality, safety, and integrity policiesDemonstrates compliance to ADM records retention policy of lab recordsFollows good documentation practices and good laboratory practicesJob Qualifications:Prior lab experience recommended, but not required.Good attendance record.Ability to make decisions based on information and data available.Ability to work as a team member. Employees in this position may be exposed to various potential chemical and food allergens due to the nature of our business and the requirements of the job.If there is any reason such exposure would interfere with your ability to perform this role or work at the location, please notify the hiring manager.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to move about on a work site by ascending/descending stairs, extensive walking, climbing steps or ladders, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, or squatting frequently Ability to operate equipment or machinery that may be located at different heights; scaffolding or elevated heights or in confined spaces Requires ability to wear appropriate fall protection equipmentRequires ability and willingness to wear respirators Employees in roles that require respirators will need to be clean shaven. Ability to lift and transport materials and equipment weighing 40 pounds on a frequent basis, up to 55 pounds on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds overhead Ability to traverse up to two (2) miles during the course of a workday Ambient conditions – Work area is, typically, a non-air-conditioned production environment. Working in in extreme heat and cold in all seasonal elements, both indoors and outside on a regular basis.Atmosphere: May come in contact with Dust (Peanut - known allergen), corn, cotton, canola seed, and odor Must be able to work around noise levels that may reach or exceed 85 decibels and will require use of hearing protection for most of the work shift Employees are required to wear all company provided Personal Protective Equipment (i.e., hard-hats, safety glasses, earplugs, uniforms, and steel-toed boots) in addition to job specific PPE requirements.ADM requires the successful completion of a background check
