QA/QC Piping Inspector 

We are currently seeking an experienced QA/QC Piping Inspector to be based in La Porte, Texas
This position requires API-570/Valid Driver’s License/Valid TWIC
Maintenance position working 4x10's plus occasional OT - NO Per Diem

QA/QC Piping Inspector that can do UTT thickness readings, PTs, and may require an API-570 for piping inspection, will inspect, test, and sample products, materials, or parts, for deviations and defects from specifications. The inspector will reject anything that does not meet with company standards. A QA or QC inspector will observe production operations and equipment to ensure that specifications are being met and to make or order necessary adjustments to processes or assemblies. Attention to detail is essential to the job of detecting defects that could be easily missed by the customer but still present a safety risk, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively when reporting issues and defects is necessary. An inspector should be able to interpret blueprints and other drawings that detail product specifications. Experience with measuring tools is required as well. 

Responsibilities:  

Performs daily construction surveillance at project site, including welding, structural and civil inspections. Inspect, test, and sample materials or assembled parts or products for defects and deviations from specifications. Reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications. Observe and report construction progress. Drafts daily reports based on observations made. Reports discrepancies to QA/QC Manager and Project Manager. Coordinates code compliance inspections per client specifications and State laws. Maps welds to be performed. Effective interfaces with client QA personnel.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Qualifications:

API – 570 Piping Inspections, PT – Dye Penetrant Testing and UT – Ultrasonic Thickness Readings. Piping and static equipment inspector to include UT and at least a couple of years’ experience in plant inspection.
