Job Title: QA Lab Technician
Job Description

The QA Lab Technician will be responsible for performing analytical chemistry laboratory procedures over incoming raw materials and product as well as in-process and finished goods inspection. This role is pivotal for the long-term effort to bring the company to a Total Quality Management (TQM) level of manufacturing. You will support the plant from an analytical (liquid) and packaging (finished product) quality perspective, allowing you to advance your skills and provide significant value as a dual resource for the Quality Department.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate and precise records, including line reports, QA programs, and Lotus Notes databases.Conduct analysis on product (in-process liquid, finished liquid, and finished package).Develop instruments and methods, write procedures, and train personnel on new techniques.Perform independent math and statistical calculations for records and reports.Participate in organoleptic training and be a member of the tasting panel.Maintain raw material and finished product retention systems.Perform quality audits of finished product from the production lines as required.Perform fill point checks on the line and make adjustments as required in accordance with Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) regulations.Assist departmental supervisors and Quality Assurance Manager with projects and special assignments as directed.Perform audits on finished goods and incoming raw materials.Essential SkillsBS or BA in Chemistry, or 1+ years of experience in regulated manufacturing if not degreed.3+ years of laboratory experience (academic or industry) with wet chemistry techniques and instrumentation, including Liquid and Gas Chromatography (HPLC & GC), densitometer, refractometer, auto-titrator, and spectrophotometers.Working knowledge of Lotus Notes, Excel Spreadsheet, and Microsoft Word.Additional Skills & QualificationsChemistry degree and 2+ years of food and beverage industry experience is ideal.Must be open to working all shifts, although the position starts on the 1st shift for the first 6 months.Work Environment

The work environment includes a food and beverage manufacturing setting, laboratory, office space, and occasional production line visits to pull product samples for testing. The role requires flexibility, organization, and the ability to multitask daily.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
