QA Technician, Lead

Summary

We are seeking an organized, deadline-oriented, self-starter to work in fast paced poultry Quality Control department. Must possess excellent attention to detail and must be bilingual (English & Spanish).  The QA Technician, Lead will be responsible for monitoring, documenting, and tracking quality control check ups and processes.  Must possess the ability to multi-task, adapt to rapid changes, enforce the rules and the ability to handle raw poultry is required.  Food Safety/HACCP experience is a plus, but not required.  Individual will be actively involved in the Company Safety program and the long term and short-term goals of the department. Ability to work as part of a team is essential.  Attendance is an essential function of the job.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday 12:45AM-9:30am

Compensation Data

This position has a base rate of $26.00 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

•    Interpret and enforce quality control rules, regulations and procedures.
•    Monitor and document temperatures.
•    Perform Operational Sanitation Monitoring.
•    Monitor product handling to avoid contaminants, congestion and cross-contamination.
•    Enforce our processes to ensure employees do not take shortcuts which could lead to violations to our food safety practices.
•    Ability to multi-task, adapt to rapid changes and work well under limited supervision.
•    Must be computer literate, specifically with Microsoft Office products.
•    Ability to participate in a rotation schedule.
•    Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
•    Participate in company and department safety program.
•    Comply with Company Policies and Procedures.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent not required but beneficial.

Experience Requirements

Worked a minimum of 6 months of consecutive work history with one employer within the past 3 years.

Experience Preferred

•    Food Safety/HACCP experience.
•    Ability to read, analyze and interpret general poultry husbandry procedures.
•    Ability to collect data and prepare reports.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

When in a plant environment:

Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.

May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.

May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.

May be exposed to dust, feathers and all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility.

Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.

Occasional exposure to carbon dioxide vapors 10ppm and chlorine less than 20 ppm.

Able to stand for several hours.

Work may include lifting (up to 50 lbs), reaching, bending, pushing boxes on conveyor assembly.
