QA Technician
Job Title: QA Technician Job Description The Quality Technician is responsible for performing departmental analytical and clerical work in support of the plant Quality function. This includes conducting lab tests, preparing samples for shipment, and responding to internal calls. The role also involves performing quality audits and floor walk-throughs. Responsibilities + Conduct lab tests, including protein, moisture, and fat testing + Prepare samples for shipment + Perform environmental monitoring + Enter data accurately + Work with Microsoft Suite + Conduct quality audits and floor walk-throughs Essential Skills + Lab testing experience + Clerical skills + Proficiency in protein, moisture, and fat testing + Quality assurance and quality control knowledge + Experience with batch records and audits + LECO testing experience Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate's degree or High School Diploma with 2 years of lab experience + 1-2 years of prior laboratory experience, preferably in a food-grade manufacturing facility + Experience in lab settings, vet offices, hospitals, or related fields + Longevity in previous roles (2 years or more preferred) Work Environment The position is based in a smaller laboratory environment within an Animal Nutrition Manufacturing Facility. The team currently consists of two QA Technicians and a Quality Manager. The role starts on the first shift for training purposes and transitions to working independently on the second shift. The second shift hours are 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends (one weekend a month). When working a weekend day, the employee will have two days off during the following work week. The role involves approximately 75% lab work and 25% clerical/computer work, with training provided.
