As a QA/Test Developer, you will be part of a team supporting an IBM Financially Significant Application. You will work in an agile, collaborative environment with primary focus on testing - manual or automated to ensure that we are delivering best in class solutions. This is a position for EMEA & US time zone. **Your role and responsibilities** As a Mainframe Test specialist and Quality Engineer, your technical skills will directly impact the quality of the software we create, and your recommendations and findings will help us make sure we're delivering the best of the best. Your primary responsibilities include: * As an Application Test Specialist you are responsible for providing system maintenance & enhancements and running and protecting the business by providing testing support for critical applications * A key component of how we work is using Agile Practices and IBM Design Thinking to drive customer success, deliver holistic product experiences, and tackle new and exciting challenges related to Application and System development and integration * You will be also responsible for activities like Performance, Regression and Sanity tests and maintenance * In this role, you will be responsible for building requirements into Agile stories, manage and perform test cases * Participate in design, development, review and test efforts for enhancements * Perform root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement * Collaborate with your teammates and interact with our product owners * Collaborate with key customers and stakeholders to provide IT services and solutions * Analyse customer or product owners needs and deliver solutions to meet those needs * Provide ongoing steady state support and maintenance of Accounts payable applications * Be part of open, transparent agile teams who always thrive for continuous learning and contribute towards continuous improvement * Read and understand the IBM Corporate Instructions and Directives * Work with your SMEs and Corporate Instructions & Directives owners as needed for assistance or clarification on IBM Standards & Guidelines. * Integrate and implement practices and tools into the squad’s DevOps framework * Ensuring adherence to IBM Security Standard (ITSS). Work with the squad(s) to ensure that they also understand the standard * Perform risk gap analysis and manage any identified gaps * Document the results of the gap analysis and any corrective actions * Document the evidence of execution of all application / infrastructure controls **Required technical and professional expertise** * Minimum 9+ years of hands on experience in testing using Mainframe skills, ZOS DB2, PL1 programming, CICS, IMS and JCL * Experience to work as part of an Agile team * Actively participate in team, project/program, technical planning that has an impact on the team’s processes and solutions * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Experience learning business processes to be able to effectively test the application * Should show an interest to pick up Accounting Domain understanding quickly * Expertise with Agile and DevOps practice and associated toolchains for code versioning, build, deploy, testing, monitoring * Ability to independently analyse requirements based on a given specification and come up with all test cases - positive, negative, boundary etc. * Demonstrated communication skills in a customer/stakeholder facing environment * Must be self-directed, resilient and creative **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management * Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Proven skills to address Continuous Testing in the DevSecOps framework * Up-to-date technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications * Working knowledge in Application Production support * Financial domain knowledge * Independent contributor, an ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals * Ability to manage change and be open to it good time management and an ability to work under stress * Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed * Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications
