QA Tester

The QA Tester will provide assistance with all testing and documentation of applications and programs to ensure they are completed in a timely manner within budgetary guidelines mutually agreed upon with project/ delivery manager. The incumbent will be expected to consistently produce high quality results that meet business needs, while assuring the analysis, design, and development are based upon requirements and desired functionality defined by the business and produces quality results that meet business objectives and timelines.
Essential Job Functions:Verify & Validate process in terms of activities (testing, code inspection, etc.), methods, tools, etc.Develop, maintain, and implement System/UAT testing strategy, test plans, test processes, test scenarios, and test cases based on CMMI standardsCreate test estimation templates, if requiredIdentify test cases and those that can be automationCreate and maintain a business requirement to test result mappingDevelop scripts for each of the test cases for automationTrain WB staff to use Test automation suites/ products, such as Mercury, QTP etc., if requiredDocument Standards and Guidelines for scriptingInstall guide and User manual for the test automation scriptsProvide leadership and “best practices” experience for definition and implementation for the process areaReport to World Bank project leadProvide guidance and support to Project Manager for implementing the defined processProvide necessary training to team membersReconcile data between source and target systems as part of data migration testing and production cut overCommunicate with Business/Systems Analysts and Developers to understand/clarify requirementsParticipate in PPQA reviews and audits of project activities and work products to ensure compliance with documented plans, procedures, and standardsProvide technical information for Change Requests meetingsParticipate in systems requirement reviews and team meetingsParticipate in production support and troubleshootingParticipate in collection and review of quantitative data related to software testing and development activities for measurement and analysisIdentify, report, and manage defects in defect tracking systemProvide regular updates to the Test/Project ManagerProvide testing status reports per Project requirements and provide input to the Project Plans and ProcessesIdentify and communicate risks to Project teamEducational Qualifications and Experience:
Education: Master’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or EngineeringRole Specific Experience: 7+ years of QA, Test, and development experienceExtensive experience in financial technology and Banking & Financial domain experience, along with knowledge of investment banking, Portfolio accounting systems, and trading application.Certification Requirements:
Certification like ISTQB and CSTE (preferred)Required Skills/Abilities:
Ability to use collaborative skills to work with application managers, database administrators, system administrators, and usersAbility to use excellent listening and communication skills in order to surface issues related to the World Bank and TRO’s unique culture and organizational constraints that could impact how designed procedures work in practiceHigh level of maturity to guide and select procedures that add value and comply with CMMI requirementsExpert understanding of technology environment, such as Oracle development environment, Unix, Java, WSAD, Web Sphere, and Oracle application serverDesired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus):
Experience with software test suites like Mercury, QTP, Test Director, Winrunner, etc.
