BA or BS college degree or 2 years' experience in inorganic, organic, and physical chemistry and a background in mathematics including chemical calculations.

Basic understanding of the general operation of analytical instruments and equipment used in the laboratory area

Working knowledge of Windows Office Suite Software (Word, Excel, Access)

Experience using LabWare or similar software

SAP experience a plus


Activities


Regularly review, monitor and report trends in QC data for appropriate product lines each weekQC activities for (3) Operating Units: Raw Material quality checks; In-Process; Final Product.QC activities for tolled materialsReview, validate, and maintain roughly 200 analytical procedures and methodsOn a daily basis enter product QC data into tracking software (Labware).Perform and record test results as required for process improvement.Generate final analysis reports Context & Environment

Maintain the Quality Control Laboratory at the Grand Junction Plant and ensure product quality meets customer requirements.

Perform daily control sampling to ensure instrument accuracyPerform typical preventative maintenance on analytical instrumentsTest incoming in-process and final products against different specificationsTroubleshoot instruments and methodsProvide laboratory testing support for process trials, NCR/CCAR investigation and special projectsOrder laboratory supplies and maintain inventorySchedule and coordinate vendor instrument servicesDevelop, maintain and document analytical methodsMonitor trends in production QC data and proactively notify management of abnormalities or changes against historical normsMaintain laboratory schedule to ensure QC chemist coverage Additional Information
