Job Title: QC Lab Manager
Job Description

This position oversees the QC Lab, managing a team of 10 employees. Reporting to the Director of Laboratories, you will be responsible for maintaining the lab's efficiency and compliance with environmental and quality management standards. You will play a key role in ensuring the lab meets customer expectations through well-defined, repeatable processes.

ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day management of the QC laboratory, including all testing, record keeping, QC staff supervision, and budget management.Maintain safety and environmental policies and procedures for lab operations and personnel.Provide supervision, leadership, and training to laboratory staff.Utilize problem-solving skills to assist internal and external customers.Maintain compliance with quality and environmental management system requirements.Ensure lab equipment is calibrated and kept in good working order.Recommend new equipment and methodologies as needed.Review and maintain test methods and work instructions.Work with manufacturing to improve the production process.Coordinate activities with outside testing laboratories.Maintain general housekeeping of the lab.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related science.Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience with teams of 3-10 people.5+ years of laboratory experience in a QC production or manufacturing environment.Minimum 1 year experience with gas chromatography (GC).Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with instrumentation maintenance and calibration methods.Understanding of analyst training programs and their implementation.Ability to take new test methods from initial development to implementation.Experience with process continuous improvement.Proficiency in MS Office and ERP programs.Ability to lead and collaborate within a fast-paced and team-based environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.Work Environment

Very clean lab environment with plenty of instrumentation for various tests related to fuels and solvents. The company has a family-oriented atmosphere and offers a great working environment. The lab operates at a fast pace, requiring efficient processing of products due to tight turnaround times.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
