QC Manager/Permits Inspector


Who You Are:

Versar Global Solutions is seeking a full-time QC Manager/Permits Inspector in West Palm Beach, FL.

What You’ll Do:

Performs routine inspections on assigned percentage of completed work orders as dictated by AM contract stipulations to verify compliance with standards.Utilizes OSP – One Stop Permitting to record all inspections of Permits within the project corridor.Ensures that all Permitting documents are uploaded to OSP are QC verified as required in the AMPER Assessment.Performs monthly field Maintenance Rating Program (MRP) inspection, as directed by FDOT random sampling, and compile results for project review and action.Performs Quality Control Inspections on structure repairs from Feasible Action Review Committee (FARC) issued work orders and review process and documents to ensure compliance with required procedure for timely close out. Keeps current and accurate records to comply with the District Quality Assurance Review stipulations, and requirements, and assists Project Manager with documentation and compilations for inspection by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT).Reviews and inspects documentation required for customer service, incident response, herbicide application, scheduled asset inspection reports, monthly work reports, and any requested documents or reports prior to submittal to FDOT.Prepares documentation and reports for Quality Assurance Manager’s review and approval. Maintains project database with current information required to produce accurate reports to the client.Supports the data collection of responsible third-party information, including police reports, responsible party identification/insurance, incident photos, hours/resources/costs incurred, and uploads information into work orders for third-party collections.Supports as needed, the implementation of Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) safety controls by setup and removal of traffic control devices, including, but not limited to; cones, message/arrow boards, temporary signage, etc. Clears roadside debris, including, but not limited to large and small dead animals, debris on or off the road. Advises Project Manager of changing policies and conflicts with standards on current or planned work.Tracks QC work order status and complete timesheet.  Understands and abide by the standards set forth for ethical behavior and integrity as detailed in the Code of Business Conduct. Monitors and maintain a current library of FDOT and all related agency policies and procedures required to perform work at contract standards.Participates in client meetings as directed by the Quality Assurance Manager or requested by the Project Manager.Advises project personnel of Quality and client recommendations to improve performance.Travels project area to perform position duties. Works at night performing inspections of reflectivity and lighting assets when needed. Drives company vehiclesUses all equipment safelyPerforms other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:

18+ years of ageHigh School Diploma or equivalentMust be able to effectively communicate with managers and coworkers in EnglishPossess and maintain a valid Driver’s LicenseAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs. regularlyAbility to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of timeAbility to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions1 year of QC experience in construction inspection, roadway maintenance, roadway constructionAbility to work along local roadways, interstates, and or/highways with commuter traffic passing by at varying rates of speedWillingness to work multiple shifts and varying hours, including nights, weekends, and overtimeSuccessful results of pre-employment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenLiteracy in all Microsoft programs required for reporting on spreadsheets and graphs as needed. Possess good oral and written communication skillsAbility to accurately perform mathematic calculations.Within 60 days of project startup and throughout employment, maintain an Advanced Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification (provided by the company).Within 60 days of project startup and throughout employment, acquire and maintain the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certifications for series 100, 200, 700 and 800 Classifications.Successful results of preemployment screenings, including federal background check, MVR, and drug screenComply with company drug and alcohol policy.Be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.

Preferred Qualifications:

5+ years of QC experience in construction inspection, roadway maintenance, roadway construction, or public worksAn equivalent combination of education and experience substituting 5 years of work experiences, with college or technical school coursework in business administration, construction technology/management, or engineering would be acceptable. 1+ year of higher education and FDOT or other DOT certifications and knowledge of all DOT requirements for holding a commercial driver’s license.CDL A or BFL MOT CertifiedAbility to drive manual transmissionKnowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in maintenance work.

Location Requirements

The position will primarily work onsite in West Palm Beach, FL.

Compensation 

Expected Salary: $26/hr - $34/hr
