What You'll Do:
Our Quality Control Engineer is for Process and Instrumentation will support Statistical Quality Control (SQC), instrument verification, validation, and Out of Specification (OOS) from QC perspective, including but not limited to all Standard Work Process (SWP), Management System, and analytical responsibilities. This position provides analytical guidance, aid, and support to QC Lab to achieve data and instrument reliability. (Analytical Instrumentation Support Role)
What We're Looking For:
Review, analyze, and evaluate, SQC data and establish mitigation steps when appropriate within the QC Laboratory and with collaboration of the production units. Provide recommendations to the assigned production unit to improve Cpk with regards to testing variation reduction including sampling procedures improvements when appropriate. Participate in multifunctional project teams. Advocate for new on-line analytical techniques in collaboration with Production to achieve unit objectives. Lead analytical test method verification and validation with corporate and Analytical Instrument Support personnel. Participate with production representatives when establishing sales specification and manufacturing specifications through the use of SPC data. Leads FEL scope and estimating on new analytical instrumentation. Actively contribute to the execution of process improvement projects with regards to analytical support. Participate and support NCM SWP as a QC representative and provide guidance in resolving the NCM with recommended corrective actions, analytical support, and final disposition. Provide trending analytical data for production units on a set cadence with recommended corrective actions when appropriate. Technical evaluation of QC Lab processes with respect to method and instrument validation and reliability. Review and analyze SQC data with a focus on instrument and technician performance and implement mitigating actions when appropriate. Primary person responsible for instrument manuals, calibration protocols and preventative maintenance plans. Provide recommendations to technicians to decrease analytical variation and enhance reliability. Participate in multifunctional project teams. Qualify new analytical techniques. Lead analytical test method implementation, verification, and validation. Champion new methods for improving QC Lab performance.
Skills That Make a Difference:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in chemistry or related field 5 years experience commensurate with technology within the plant’s lab (HPLC, GC, Viscometers, FTIR, SAP, GDP/GMP) Experience in instrumentation troubleshooting. Knowledge and experience with 5S standards 5 years experience within a chemical plant (plus) Experience with plant specific product line (CarbopolTM Powder testing, Batch Processing)(Plus) Familiarity with the following certifications: International Organization for Standardization (ISO), EXCiPACT, EFfCI, IFAC, Kosher and Halal(Plus).
