Position Title: QC Technician
Location: Mindelo, Portugal
Position Overview:
The QC Technician II reports to the QC Team Leader. The job holder has the responsibility to:
-Comply with the Inspection Plans defined for Raw Materials, Bulks, Zints and Finished goods.
- Participate actively in the implementation and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (Quality & Environment).
This position might involve working in shifts.
Primary Responsibilities
In-process quality control lab
Comply with all safety protocols;Ensure quality control of Raw Materials, Work in Progress Products and Finished goods, performing necessary adjustments, according to existing Inspection Plans;Investigate if results are outside control parameters;Record all test results (relevant RM, In-Process and QC testing) on appropriate database and perform all transactions in SAP system.Correctly label and store the retained samples, as well as their recycling and disposal;Manage the inventory concerning blocked materials and shelf-life of Raw Materials, Bulks, Zints and Finished-goods.Ensure all equipments are in good working order and calibrated/verified as scheduled;Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the cleaning of lab materials and equipments;Record internal non conformances and actively work with Production and Logistics to identify the root causes;Ensure that all information for the customer (CoA) is available.Define and perform calibrations and verifications plan for Monitoring and Measuring Devices.Ensure weighing verifications as per legal and process requirements;Execute the orders of cleaning products and all supplies for QC Lab;Perform monthly reports monitoring the quality performance of QC Lab activities.Collaborate on the management of BOMs (Bill of Material), Recipes, Probabilities and Priorities in SAP system.Participation in the quality management system
Involvement during internal and external audits;Active participation during investigation of quality complaints and internal complaints/alerts;Active participation in the implementation and verification of the effectiveness of corrective and preventive measures (internal NC, internal/external audits, customer complaints/alerts);Participation during the scale-up of new products;Contribution on projects like OD, 5S, MOC, etc.Implementation & Compliance with all legal and company EHS policy and procedures, reporting any deviation from safety instructions to ensure a secure working environment.Carry out any other duties which may be requested from the Production & Planner Supervisor.Minimum Requirements:
Degree of chemistry, chemical engineering or equivalent;Good computer skills (MS Office)Ability to read and understand work orders, production process, safety regulations and quality procedures and instructions;Ability to work without supervision and capacity to take decisions;Good knowledge of English (written and verbal);Precision and Accuracy are key skillsAvailability to work in shiftsPreferred Requirements:
2 years’ experience in industrial environment (Quality Control)Familiar with physical testing, analytical testing and visual checksKnowledge of ISO standardsExperience in SAP#LI-SC1
