As a QESH Officer at GXO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our QESH management systems. You’ll work closely with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure that we not only meet but exceed regulatory requirements and industry certifications within the food sector. Your efforts will be critical in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace that aligns with our high standards.
What you do on a typical day:
The purpose of the position is to manage and monitor the quality, occupational health and safety and environmental management systems for the new location in Bremen. You'll have the autonomy to take ownership of key initiatives and make a tangible impact by contributing to the development, optimization, and standardization of our business processes. With this responsibility, you'll have the freedom to act with initiative and the opportunity to shape the future of our operations in a meaningful way.

Your tasks include:
Implementing quality, environmental, safety and working conditions policy according to German regulations Maintenance and improvement regarding follow-up of the established quality management systems through auditing and spot checks Assisting operational personnel with incident investigation: providing advice, support and guidance on legal framework, ensuring that learning points are fed into QESH directorate for continued improvement of policy, standards etc. Undertaking audits of contract depots and staff on site Assisting and supporting with audits by internal and external bodies/ parties for example ISO audits, etc. Supporting local managers on the contact with QESH regulators (e.g., HSE, Local Authority, Environment Agency etc.) accompanying them on inspections, audits and responding to complaints and queries Working within and promoting the philosophy of safe team working and development across all company activities to achieve business objectives and continuously improve performance
What you need to be successful in this role:
Knowledge of risk management systems, quality assurance, incident investigation methods Auditing experience Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding all QESH related topics Previous knowledge of ISO 22000 and experience in either of the following standards ISO 9001/ ISO 14001/ ISO 45001 is a plus Logistics sector background is a plus Fluent proficiency in both German and English is mandatory You are careful, decisive and independent. You like working within a team, and you cope well with stress
