The role
As a Qualified Flying Instructor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Make a difference with us by providing flying training using Grob 115E aircraft to Royal Navy students in a fast paced, challenging, and real-life operational setting, critical to future defence output.
Day-to-day, you’ll support dedicated students on a flying syllabus that caters to elements such as navigation, instrument flying and aerobatics.
Attend briefings to identify weather conditions for the day, before joining preparation briefings before flying sessions with your students. Ensure that all other related support activities and services are provided under the direction of the Site Operations Manager and Flight Commander Conduct mass briefings with students, teaching from a standardised format prescribed by the course.
This role is full time, 40 hours per week and is based on site at Royal Navy Air Station Yeovilton, working Monday-Friday 0800-1700.
Essential experience of the Qualified Flying Instructor
Previous Military flying experience with a minimum CFS B1 QFI/QHI category.
Qualifications for the Qualified Flying Instructor
Hold a class 1 medical certificate to the satisfaction of the MOD requirements. Minimum of Commercial Pilots Licence, Unrestricted Instructor Rating (with Aerobatics) and valid Instrument Rating (A) SE SP DTTT V2 (Defence train the trainer) can be provided. Have completed a Flying Supervisors Course/Flight Authorisers Course is desirable but can be provided during onboarding.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.
