As a Rate Quality Analyst at American National, your primary responsibility will be to test the accuracy of rates and premium formulas used in issuing policies. What Will You Do?
• Supports the profitability of the company by verifying rate accuracy
• Acquires skills to maintain rate files and validate the accuracy of programs
• Learns skills to test a policy rating by developing and executing test plans, test cases, and scenarios.
• Acquires the basic knowledge of insurance, fundamental business concepts, foundational actuarial Rate QA Skills , and technical computer skills.
• Develops and utilizes rating calculators through Excel spreadsheets to validate premiums in Policy Admin systems and programs to ensure premiums are calculated correctly in accordance with SOX requirements.
• Identifies errors, defects, system problems and unexpected results prior to implementation.
• Handles service requests and project tasks as a part of a larger team.
• Reviews requirements, identifies issues with requirements, and seeks clarity to improve the quality of rate test expectations.
• Communicates and coordinates with other areas’ line of business stakeholders in project planning and execution.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree
• Strong mathematical skills required; ability to process information logically; and problem-solving, critical thinking; time management ability
• Basic understanding of computer technology including experience with Microsoft Office products such as Excel
Salary for this position can range from $54,000 for candidates who are minimally qualified through $70,000 for more highly qualified candidates. Candidates outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill and education.
