Job Description
The candidate will be working in the Quality Lab responsible for testing various products. Testing will include pH testing, viscosity testing, density testing, percentage solids, and weighing samples.
ResponsibilitiesCollect and test samples of ingredients, products, or packages according to established procedures.Monitor processes to ensure they are operating correctly and consistently.Document all results neatly and precisely.Label and maintain product retention samples used to monitor the product throughout the established shelf life.Organize collected data for management review.Maintain lab equipment in a clean and orderly fashion.Communicate non-compliant results immediately to management.Monitor plant for compliance to GMPs.Accurately weigh ingredients, colors, flavorings, and seasonings.Test R&D samples for food safety and specification development.Conduct other duties as assigned by the plant QA Supervisor or QA Manager.Essential SkillsExperience with wet chemistry.Bachelor's degree in Science or an Associate's degree in a science-related field.Quality control and quality assurance experience.Knowledge of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).Additional Skills & QualificationsNon-degreed candidates with one year of wet chemistry lab experience are also considered.Work Environment
The candidate needs to be comfortable with the lab being loud and having strong food smells. The culture of the lab is very team-oriented and has a family feel. The lab is small, and the candidate will work alongside a few other technicians and report to the supervisor. The dress code for the lab is casual; most people wear a t-shirt and jeans. A lab coat will be issued once hired. No jewelry, watches, false eyelashes, fingernail polish, plastic bobby pins, or similar items are permitted.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00
