Your Role: 

The Quality Associate Chemist will be part of the Quality Assurance group and provide day to day Quality oversight and assistance with the collection of instrumentation data for certificate of conformance reporting.  Our products are sold globally and include highly engineered materials sold to the integrated circuit industry.  You will be a key member of the team ensuring customer satisfaction in our products originating in our US-based factory. 

  

Responsibilities include: 

Identify and implement improvements to ensure the lab is a safe working environment 

Execute testing while utilizing a variety of chemical and physical analysis instrumentation.  This includes ion chromatography, liquid chromatography, particle sizers, ICP, titration, pH, density, viscosity, scales, and other laboratory techniques 

Identify and implement improvement to laboratory methods and procedures which improve the quality and consistency of reported data 

Maintain quality management systems as they apply to the analytical lab 

Assist the production plant with their quality management system improvements as necessary 

Investigate and perform testing in response to customer complaints or information requests.  Track responses to customers to ensure closure 

Update work instructions in the document control system 

Support certification and customer audit activities 

Utilize and maintain control charts. Perform statistical analysis using analytical software packages to uncover the root causes behind OOC or OOS results 

Facilitate the training of QC technicians as needed 

Monitor lab instrumentation performance, stability, calibration, and service requirements 

Work as a team player in the lab to ensure overall lab success and continuous improvement 

Occasional travel to Martin, SC to support our manufacturing site (
