Actalent is urgently hiring for a quality assurance supervisor role in a food manufacturing facility. This is a long term opening with lots of room for growth. This role requires you to have at least a highschool diploma and previous expiernece being a quality assurance supervisor role in a food manufacturing facility setting. The ideal candidate would be someone who has their highschool diploma or bachelors degree and at least 1-3 years of expiernece being in a quality assurance supervisor role.
This runs on a 3rd shift Monday to Friday 11PM to 7AM
Job Description
Works within the policy guidance of the Director of Quality and Food Safety. Coaches and coordinates the daily activities of quality assurance teammates. Works with all departments in matters relating to quality and food safety. Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of Quality Assurance lab technicians. Primarily works as a coach/facilitator, coordinating with the other departments to ensure sufficient resources are available to meet quality and food safety requirements. Audits the personnel and food safety as well as the cleanliness of the plant operation, taking immediate and specific action anytime either personnel or food safety or cleanliness is unacceptable. Coach, evaluate, train, and discipline teammates as necessary to ensure they reach their full potential. Handles confidential information (personnel records) with discretion. Able to provide positive leadership to teammates in order to meet or exceed quality and productivity goals in a consistent, safe manner. Acts as a resource for all departments and a leader in all things quality and food safety related.
Coordinates the quality assurance technicians to satisfy external and internal customers.Must be able to interface with all internal departments to ensure all quality and food safety standards are met.Works with teammates and other members of management to resolve quality and food safety problems as they occur.Develops a functional understanding of quality assurance principles, testing, and equipment utilized in the facility.Ability to provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting to lab equipment.Ensures quality assurance team has all necessary resources; orders items as needed.Coaching/training of primarily quality assurance technicians but also teammates across other departments.Works with teammates to ensure they understand the effects of changes and that they develop the ability to problem-solve quality and food safety issues themselves.Counsels, evaluates, and disciplines teammates as needed.Attends meetings and professional seminars as needed.Utilizes available data to develop and implement continuous improvement projects.Communicate via telephone or email with internal and external customers.Uses the systems available to communicate and assess production performance during their shift.Review and sign-off on production, quality, and CCP records and documentation.Performs other duties as assigned.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Successful candidate must be able to communicate English clearly in both the verbal and written form.Attention to detail is essential.Ability to work in a team atmosphere and provide the essential leadership for the team to excel.High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of supervisory experience is required.A Bachelor's degree is preferred.Previous experience in a quality assurance laboratory is preferred; especially in food manufacturing.Ability to handle contact with customers, other departments, upper management, and the general public with diplomacy.Must be able to work with minimal supervision to maintain performance levels in all areas while under pressure or while in stressful situations and conditions.Ability to accept the concept of constant improvement and change for improvement.Ability to work any shift and have good basic math skillsPay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $75000.00
