Job Description
The QA Technician ensures that the plant complies with food regulatory requirements and reports deficiencies or practices that could compromise food safety, quality, and defense.
ResponsibilitiesMonitor production conditions, specifications, process controls, and tracking controls.Maintain wash line concentrations.Verify checks on existing production control forms and audit the same forms to meet all program requirements.Collect environmental swabs, air sampling dishes, and lab retain samples.Monitor all CCPs on-line and take corrective actions whenever necessary to determine the root cause and develop a preventative action plan.Check pH levels, temperature, and brix of each batch of juice produced to ensure they are within product specifications.Perform and document Facility Operation Inspections & Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).Perform Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOPs) verification and ATP swabs.Track non-conforming products and their dispositions.Conduct Pre-Operational inspection procedures of all production/bottling equipment and facility.Calibrate equipment and make necessary adjustments.Complete special assignments as needed by the Quality Assurance Manager.Assist with testing food products to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.Conduct inventory checks (ATP swabs, charts, forms, etc.).Ensure volumes, torques, and bottle weights are within product specifications.Complete and enter into the database all pallet tags and CCP forms for production and bottling.Record cycles and verify that all HPP settings and information are correct.Perform metal mesh and magnet inspections.Ensure production lot codes, labels, mold numbers, and packaging are within product specifications.Perform lab duties as necessary.Verify shipping and receiving processes.Adhere to SOP, SSOP, GMP, and HACCP guidelines when in the plant.Ensure regular and reliable attendance.Essential SkillsExcel data entryAttention to detailStrong communication skillsGMP knowledgeInspection skillsFDA regulations understandingMultitasking abilityAdditional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of Quality Assurance experience preferred1-2 years of food industry experience preferredKnowledge of food safety regulations preferredExcellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills requiredSpanish language skills are a plusStrong leadership skillsComputer skillsCritical thinking skillsAbility to adapt to constant changesWork independently with moderate supervisionWillingness to work adjusted schedules, overtime, and evening/weekend hours as neededWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
All work is performed on the production floor with 32 team members in QA throughout the plant. The environment may be wet or dry, with temperatures as low as 35°F, similar to a Costco cold room.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.50
