Job Description:
Location: South Portland, Maine
We are seeking highly skilled and versatile Quality Assurance and Inspection Specialists to join our growing team in South Portland, ME. This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including quality inspection, process development, final quality control (FQC), and operating Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment in an electronics manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
– Inspect products at various stages of the production process to ensure they meet the highest quality standards. Develop and improve inspection procedures and processes based on industry best practices.
– Interpret and analyze technical drawings and blueprints to ensure products meet specified requirements. Maintain and manage quality documentation, supporting ISO compliance and ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
– Perform detailed inspections on finished products to ensure they meet quality specifications, with a focus on IPC610 standards. Troubleshoot and resolve quality issues, and document inspection results to inform continuous improvement initiatives.
– Operate and maintain AOI equipment to inspect electronic assemblies for quality and conformity. Perform regular maintenance on AOI machines and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
– Work closely with cross-functional teams (production, engineering, etc.) to identify quality concerns and implement corrective actions. Assist with audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and provide feedback to drive process enhancements.
Desired Background/Skills:
– Proven experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of electronics and soldering inspection standards.
– Must be familiar with IPC610 standards, and ideally have certification or equivalent experience in inspection and quality control of electronic assemblies.
– Knowledge of ISO auditing and document control practices is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and maintain compliance with quality management systems.
– Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and other product specifications. Experience operating AOI machines and troubleshooting electronic inspection equipment.
– A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues are essential for success in this role.
– Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
