The Quality Assurance Auditor performs inspection and testing on in-process and finished goods. Provide the leadership and expertise in the achievement of manufacturing goals in the areas of safety, quality, production and efficiency. Ensure personnel performing Quality Checks follow correct procedures to produce and monitor product for customer.
**Responsibilities**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
+ Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to management. Acts as a role model for Safety on shift. Participates in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enters Near Miss data and observations into Global Data Center database (GDC)
+ Assists production in maintaining highest quality and production standards. Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying Traveler Reports.
+ Performs physical and analytical test such as; Elmendorf Tear, Dart Drop, Tensile Gauge Profile, Opacity, weights and measures, and Consumer specific testing. Additional testing may be required for samples from extrusion lines, trial runs and submitted request from sales.
+ Performs regular safety walk-throughs and planned housekeeping to the highest level as scheduled.
+ Performs pallet audits as required to assure customer specifications are met.
+ Ensures all laboratory test equipment is in proper working order. Reports all non functioning equipment.
+ Participates in employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
+ Contribute to the smooth operation of their section, by partnering with the Senior Operators to ensure safety, quality, production, and housekeeping meet or exceed world class standards.
+ Ensures that Packers have sufficient and correct supplies to package products. Coordinates with Packaging Handlers for correct quantities of materials. Leaves adequate packaging and supplies for oncoming crew (at least to table height for next shift).
+ Assists Packers with packing, fills in as a packer, as needed, troubleshooting, equipment operation and housekeeping responsibilities as needed.
+ Maintain housekeeping, empty trash and move to compactor, clean break room and other tasks as assigned.
+ Motivates and coaches team members through good communication and feedback. Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed. Provides on the job training for Packers as required.
+ Other duties as assigned or requested.
**Qualifications**

**Education:** Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a High school diploma or GED is preferred.
**Experience:** In addition to the educational requirements previous manufacturing experience preferred.
**Language Skill** s - Ability to read, and interpret procedure manuals, specification sheets and other product documentation. Ability to write simple reports and instructions. Must be ableto read, understand and write in English.
**Mathematical Skills** – Basic mathematical skills to be able to understand simple mathematical concepts such as percentages and ratios; Ability to read a weight scale and tape measure and/or ruler to perform quality checks and transfer to documents.
**Other Skills and Abilities**
1. Knowledge in performing quality testing on product
2. Ability to operate office equipment and PC
3. Ability to operate a forklift
4. Ability to train new employees
5. Ability to communicate with employees who may not speak English.
