Complete Description:
The Functional Tester will support the design, planning, and execution of testing to validate and verify approved requirements and design. This position will collaborate with other appropriate District Agency such as Test Engineers, Software Developer.
Day-to-Day Testing Responsibilities:
• Reviews Requirements and Design Documents to identify high-level test case scenarios.
• Maps high-level test cases to documented requirements.
• Develops detailed test case steps, automation test scripts, and test data for execution.
• Supports the development of various Test Artifacts (plans, reports, etc.).
• Helps execute test cases to meet daily and weekly execution metrics (if needed).
• Identifies, records, and helps manage defects to resolution.
• Documents Test results and ensures test cases are accurate for future automation and regression.
• Reports status to Test Manager, Program Leadership, and the Client.
• Identifies, documents, and communicates any testing issues and/or risks.
• Performs (or manages) the execution of automated test cases during the Testing phase.
• Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed to execute test cases.
• Applies innovative thinking and develops new ideas on how to make tests more efficient.
• Takes responsibility for obtaining and internalizing feedback.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities from client
• Develops client relationships.
Preferred Skill Sets:
• HP Tool Suite -- (Quality Center, QuickTestPro, LoadRunnerr)
• TOAD, Oracle, SQL Server, other database query tools
• Experience working with Federal/Local Government projects
• Experience with functional and automated testing for Web and ERP Applications
• Creating Automated test scripts using QTP
• Creating, managing and executing test cases via HP Quality Center/ALM
• Experience with SDLC -- Agile and Waterfall preferred
• SQL Scripting
