Responsibilities + Complete quality tests of magnet wire for quality specifications, investigation, design proposals, R&D, improvement, and performance. + Provide testing and support for magnet wire products, including metallurgical testing. + Complete testing on QA and experimental runs, action requests, and sample orders. + Assist in preparing magnet wire enamels, thinners, and lubricants. + Perform inspection and analysis of raw materials and chemical products to ensure adherence to specifications. + Conduct a range of tests requiring high attention to detail. + Read, understand, and use detailed instructions; perform testing, enter data, present data, and prepare reports or charts to report test results. + Utilize chemical testing equipment and measuring instruments. + Assist technicians, engineers, and management in analyzing, solving, and correcting problems. + Use computer programs, quality systems, and tools. Be highly involved in the quality management system. + Follow all procedures, methods, and guidelines to ensure quality, safety, and production goals are met. + Enter records or write up data for company reports. + Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers to give and receive information while maintaining positive working relationships. Skills Laboratory, Gmp, Quality control, Metallurgy, Materials Science, Inspection, Analytical Chemistry, Quality assurance, Calipers, Quality inspection, Micrometer, Qc, Quality check, Wet chemistry, Titration Qualifications + High School Diploma required. + Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in life science/technical field highly preferred but not required. + 2-3 years of experience in quality assurance/quality control lab technician roles and ideally within a chemistry lab. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Strong working knowledge of computers. + Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO/QS/TS). + High attention to detail and organization skills. + Above average mechanical skills. + Good analytical and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and within a team. Nice to Have + 2-3 years of chemistry laboratory experience in chemistry testing, viscosity testing, pH testing, water testing, chemical mixing, quality assurance, wet chemistry, and titration. + Experience in metallurgy or materials science, specifically with copper, is strongly preferred. Work Environment Training with Lead QA Technician for several weeks. The position is 1st shift, Monday to Friday from 7am to 4pm. The work environment has a relaxed/casual dress code with boots required. PPE, including lab coat, gloves, and glasses, will be provided. The team size is 8. There are multiple plants throughout the Fort Wayne area with opportunities to grow your career. Offering hands-on training and opportunities to gain experience in various groups and departments across engineering and sciences, with a small cohesive team providing 1v1 training.
