Quality Assurance Manager, Customer Claims

SUMMARY

Management of the Claims Evaluation Lab.  Manage the overall Claims Evaluation process for all business units including prioritizing safety as a primary objective, development and maintenance of standardized claims evaluation protocols, claims analysis and reporting processes related to identifying, prioritizing, and reporting field issues that require collaboration with manufacturing regarding investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action.

Manage Claims Analysis and Reporting for all business units including both New Material and Warranty Claims: Provide leadership and collaboration with the manufacturing plants and sales to drive sustainable improvement to eliminate or reduce New Material and Warranty Claim cost, and assist in setting annual improvement targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Management of Claims Evaluation and Communication

Manage the overall Claims Evaluation process for all business units including prioritizing safety as a primary objective, development and maintenance of standardized claims evaluation protocols, claims analysis and reporting processes related to identifying, prioritizing the pending claim review backlog, and reporting field issues that require collaboration with manufacturing regarding investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action.

Manage detailed development and maintenance of standardized claims evaluation protocols. Coordinate review with Plant Quality personnel and Quality Assurance leaders to ensure that the due-diligence of plant claim evaluation is built into the process. Coordinate cross-functional approval of final protocols. Manage ongoing development and continuous improvement of the claims evaluation process.

Manage detailed communication and coordination between Manufacturing Plants, Warranty Services Department, Legal, and Sales regarding claims evaluation.

Job-In-Progress (JIP) Claims – Lead the investigation and coordinate with Field TM’s, Warranty Services and Plants to provide a rapid response to JIP field issues.

Manage experimental testing projects to evaluate aged appearance/performance expectations and use this information to refine claims evaluation protocols.

Claims Data Analysis

Manage Claims Analysis and Reporting for all business units including both New Material and Warranty Claims: Provide leadership and collaboration with the manufacturing plants to drive sustainable improvement to eliminate or reduce New Material and Warranty Claim cost, and assist in setting annual improvement targets.

Prepare and distribute regular claims analysis reports to facilitate deployment of resources and business decisions.

Conduct targeted claims analysis to support specific business initiatives.

Provide leadership and collaboration with the manufacturing plants & sales to identify and prioritize field issues, and conduct investigation, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to drive sustainable improvements that eliminate or reduce New Material and Warranty Claim cost.

Supervision Responsibilities

Facilitate a Culture of Safety utilizing EHS HBC concepts, 5S organizational concepts, and participation in Parsippany site safety programs and training.

Establish and report claims evaluation turnaround metrics to ensure claim review, evaluation, and final disposition in a timely fashion, and identification and resolution of any bottlenecks.

Interpret technical documents, specifications, and procedures to facilitate development of claims evaluation protocols.

Manage development and maintenance of product version history records including product identification tape codes.

Develop product and installation expertise to support claims evaluation protocols for all business units and product types.

Assure accurate records of all lab work including lab reports, inspections, and other supporting documentation.

Develop and implement Equipment Calibration program.

Maintain the requirements for Quality Services QS/PDC Audit standards.

Maintain RCN back-up capability within Claims Evaluation Lab.

Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Experience applying Kepner-Tregoe ATS or equivalent root cause analysis.

Working knowledge of ASTM and Regulatory Standards.

Under This Roof, We Require

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably roofing or other continuous web manufacturing.

Minimum 2 years of experience in management function.

Experience managing a physical properties test lab operation including development of lab test protocols, familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), and equipment calibration procedures.

Experience handling customer complaints/claims, including claims data analysis to identify corrective action priorities.

Experience with laboratory start-up, and design & application of new quality systems.
