Quality Assurance Manager

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State. 

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

Develops and manages total quality processes and programs.  Determines area for quality and productivity improvements and develops objectives.  Evaluates internal and external customer/supplier relationships.  Trains company personnel in the adoption of Continuous Improvement Methods including: statistical process control, problem-solving and team building with an organization-wide emphasis on customer satisfaction.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Quality Assurance Manager:

Reviews QA workload with applicable Management Teams, mentors, trains and manages QA Staff. Coordinates Contract Reviews with relevant personnel. Monitors work in progress throughout facilities, discussing current events (relevant to production) with other JI associates; Reviews weekly accomplishments and future plans with QA staff as required. Responds to emergent requests for QA support. Updates Internal Audit Schedule; Updates Corrective Action Program; Monitors overall compliance to the QMS’ procedures and policies, briefing management on QMS status. Ensures that the approved company quality policies and procedures are in compliance to the AS9100 Standards and Relative Interested Parties. Is responsible for the maintenance, availability and additional functions defined within the Quality Control Manual for the Manufacture, Repair and/or Alteration of Boilers and Pressure Vessels. Coordinates with customers/regulatory bodies re: registrars for audits and corrective action issues. Acts as Management Representative ensuring QMS Processes are established, implemented and maintained. Promotes continuous improvement initiatives. Schedules Management Reviews with Top Management and coordinates QMS performance reports with process owners, promotes customer requirements, awareness, presents customer feedback/satisfaction including scorecards, complaints and corrective actions. Maintains a list of certification and qualifications. Maintains a list of Relevant Interested Parties. Has organizational freedom and unrestricted access to Top Management for resolution of Quality Management issues. Own the CAPA Process, responsible for reviews, approvals & reporting Access and report quarterly, LMCO QCS-001 Usage Reporting for special processes conducted at JI or Suppliers. Access Boeing SQIS system review and communicate SQAR / NN / CA / SS correspondence accordingly. Occasionally schedules training or other off-site functions; Provides training as required to enhance the workforce’s awareness of the QMS. Acts as the Administrator of OASIS and PRI (Nadcap) Database Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job Performs other duties as assigned 

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required).  Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline highly desired.  Specialized training in a Quality Assurance/Auditing is required.  5-10 years’ work experience in Quality Assurance is required.  Lean Manufacturing experience, including six sigma, 5S and Kaizen experience highly desired.  Previous experience managing AS9100 Quality Program is required. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.

Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $115,000 plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
