Quality Assurance Specialist
You will play a critical role in the Quality Assurance team to ensure both customer and company quality requirements are met.
You will apply quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with customer contractual requirements. You will review and evaluate complex in-process rejections and facilitates corrective action, as needed. You will interface with customers, vendors and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.

Your Challenge
Review component certifications to ensure full compliance with purchase order requirements
Ensure 100% quality and regulatory compliance in accordance with documented procedures for all aspects of functional responsibility
Develop quality assurance data packages for customer review
Provide subject matter expertise while interacting with internal and external customers as well as suppliers by meeting regularly, responding to requests, and resolving issues as they may arise
Participate in the preparation and maintenance of quality management system procedures
Review and evaluate in-process rejections, obtain responses, evaluate root causes, and implement corrective action when needed.
Identify potential project quality issues
Perform internal audits
Review and approve bills of material and purchase requisitions related to assigned projects.
Prepare and provide detailed quality assurance inputs to such documents
Review and evaluate contractual requirements in specifications and drawings with specific attention to quality requirements
Support in-process Hold/Witness Points at facility or offsite
Coordinate quality activities with customers, suppliers, and third-party oversight bodies as necessary
Provide leadership in acquiring and implementing improved QA techniques and processes and make key processes visible
Serve as the key process owner and monitor for processes within the scope of area of specific responsibility
Improve and create standardized quality processes
What You Bring
Degree strongly preferred: BS Mechanical or Materials Science Engineering (or equivalent)
Demonstrated strong attention to details
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain DoD security clearance
Knowledge of ISO9001:2015
Lead Auditor certification
Basic engineering & materials science principles
Manufacturing environment
Nuclear Navy or Nuclear Power Industry experience is an asset
Familiarity with rotating machinery
Regulated Industries (e.g., food, aerospace, transportation, biotech)
