What You'll Do:

Quality is a critical element of the Lubrizol Vision and a long-term customer commitment. Our mission is to reliably deliver products that consistently meet our customers’ quality expectations. The Quality Assurance Specification Manager is accountable for management of specification setting and quality assurance processes, projects, and activities that drive continual improvement and sustainable quality in Lubrizol operations and manufacturing.  This key role in the operations quality group interfaces directly with customers, the LZAM business technology and commercial groups, sales, supply chain, blend test services, R&D, data science and the LZAM manufacturing plants along with global quality professionals to develop and align specification processes and activities to assure quality in intermediates, products, and testing.

 

What We're Looking For:

Own and administer processes for specification setting on all LZAM finished products and components, including customer specification management. Set and manage specifications on new LZAM finished products. Participate on a team of global customer specification managers Provide oversight and act as final decision maker in all customer specification negotiations. Participate in specification management for LZAM products and raw materials. Focal point and product quality incident team coordinator or leader for Quality of Product (QP) customer complaints. Consult in disposition of non-conforming materials (NCM). Lead and execute continual improvement projects based on global QP complaint and NCM data related to specifications. Drive utilization of quality data systems for RCA and CAPA across LZAM plants globally Drive conformance to Lubrizol quality standards across the enterprise.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or a field technically relevant to the chemical industry. 5 years minimum experience in chemical industry project management, technology management, or manufacturing quality management. Experience at influencing people to achieve results. Practical experience at leading change, understanding of the challenges and culture within operations. Awareness and understanding of relevant quality management systems and standards (ISO, GMP, FDA). Working knowledge of statistical and problem-solving tools. Capable of being perceived as a leader for quality across operations and the businesses. Strong presentation skills to deliver key messages to senior management or customers. Ability to communicate and interact successfully at all levels. Able to influence others to catalyze cultural change. Empathizes with and listens to others perspective on quality. Willingness to own it, take responsibility and work across the organization to achieve results. Collaboration and team-building skills. SAP, BOBJ, LIMS or equivalent enterprise management software considered a plus. Experience with statistical analysis and tools
