Your Opportunity as a Quality Assurance Supervisor
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist with the implementation of quality systems and programs to ensure quality and food safety standards meet key performance drivers for the business. This position in Quality will be working across multiple departments that produce a variety of Hostess products. The candidate will interface regularly as a resource and quality point of contact with cross-functional teams including but not limited to Operations Management, Engineering, Procurement, corporate Quality, and R&D. This person will educate, train and coach appropriate personnel within the plant on the criticality of GMP, Food Safety, Business risk and Quality Management System activities and give recommendations and guidance to organization management on best practices.
Location: 1969 Victory Dr, Columbus, GA 31901 (Hostess Manufacturing Plant)
Work Arrangements: 100% on-site. Day Shift Mon-Fri 4am-2pm (flexibility required)
In this Role You Will:
HARPC/HACCP/BRC Program management
Maintaining current documentation in binders/electronic files and updating documents
CCP management of metal detectors (training, validation, calibration, etc.)
FSMA management for compliance and updates
HACCP meeting and training management
HARPC and Food Safety Plan maintenance
Document control log management
Product launch support
Support new product development, product moves, and changes to existing products.
Ensure specifications are complete and achievable at hand-off to operations
Develop HACCP plans for product launches
Act as quality operations liaison at the plant
Support Audit processes
Prepare site for Hostess and other audits and regulatory inspections
Attend and guide onsite audit process
Conduct follow up support on corrective actions and effectiveness checks
Demonstrate knowledge of standards and provide guidance as needed to cross functional support groups of U.S. Food GMP’s (FSMA)
Demonstrate knowledge of standards and provide guidance as needed to cross functional support groups for Hostess policies, associated documents, and requirements
Regulatory (Kosher, RSPO, Gluten free, Allergen Control) activities at the plant (as applicable)
BRC Standards (in-depth knowledge)
HACCP certification
Harmonization and compliance of Hostess Quality and Food Safety Systems across assigned operations. Steward site policy and support transition of corporate policy to local policy
Conduct line assessments to ensure facility and process is capable of producing product meeting Hostess expectations.
Plant assist – Support Quality Manager and Operations Audit processes through line start-ups, change overs, walk-throughs, trials, meetings, and act as general designee to the Quality Manager
Prepare various reports and metrics upon request
Conduct necessary training courses and education (i.e., inspection/auditor, Food Safety)

What We are Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
A High School diploma or GED is required
1 year of manufacturing experience
1 year of leadership experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
Excellent communication and cross-functional teamwork skills are a must
Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:
A BS in Science or Technology (e.g., Biology, Food Science, Chemistry, etc.) or a BS in Engineering (e.g., Chemical, Food, etc.) is preferred
Visible leadership, ability to influence and drive results.
Structured thinker who can layout clear action plans and drive implementation
Good time management and multitasking skills
Ability and willingness to take action
Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills
