BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
Skills and Abilities:
Experience with inspection tools, independent, self-motivated, and able to concentrate on difficult tasks for long periods of time, ability to interpret customer blueprints, specifications, etc., team oriented, good verbal and written communication skills, competent with MS Office applications.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 3 years of quality related experience is preferred.
• 1 year metal cell experience is preferred

Our state-of-the-art investment casting facility in La Porte, Indiana is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. Nestled halfway between South Bend and Chicago, along the shores of Lake Michigan - our facility in La Porte, Indiana supplies jet engine components to some of the most trusted names in the Aerospace industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Performs over-inspection of parts prior to shipment rejecting unacceptable parts.
• Verify shipping paperwork is correct to internal and external customer requirements.
• Maintain the MRB system.
• Process all returned castings.
• Perform periodic product integrity audits.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and procedures.
• Prepare and send records for storage.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Consistently demonstrate Howmet Aerospace values.
• Process required paperwork and conduct necessary dock inspections.
• Maintain customer certifications/credentials required to perform source release function.
• Process all castings into and out of the MRB crib, updating logs/paperwork as necessary.
• Process all castings returned for quality issues and follow through with return disposition along with updating IQS.
• Maintain accurate records for all job functions.
• Carry out hands-on duties in assigned areas, such as segregating non-conforming parts into categories, over-inspection of parts, and submitting parts to the MRB crib.
• Generate and issue quality alert forms when necessary.
• Generate written reports as required.
• Perform periodic product integrity audits and customer audits per schedule/requirements.
• Assist manufacturing, engineering and quality with continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
• Assist in corrective action investigations as needed.
• As assigned, verify MES parts cast matches cast logs, work with Alloy Procurement Specialist as needed.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
