GENERAL FUNCTION

The Quality Assurance Technician II is responsible for performing daily product and process quality related functions including process audits, data entry, data collection and analysis with expectations to use such data to implement continuous improvements in product and process quality.

 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Researches and resolves in-process production issues, calling on after sales leadership for further testing as needed. Acts as key resource for data collection, entry, summary, and reporting. Assists after sales as needed with quality issues and inspections. Assists with frame fit and lens manufacturability issues. Communicates with customer returns reps regarding Rx returns. Implements product audits. Acts as key resource for inbound and outbound Rx inspection activities. Performs process and quality audits as needed. Verifies the prescription on Rx returns. Uses optical tools for lens evaluation. Enters returns related data and notes into returns system. 

 

BASIC (REQUIRED) QUALIFICATIONS

HS diploma or equivalent 2+ years of experience in either optical manufacturing or optical retail. Good oral and written communication skills Basic optical knowledge pertaining to Pd, power, cylinder, axis, and frame inspection. Proficient in the use of FocoVision equipment and ANSI inspection tools. Proficient in MS Excel. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Some college coursework ABO Certification Experience in process/product improvement initiatives Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts
