Quality Assurance Technician III

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Quality Technician will have a good working knowledge of all product lines, and will perform one or more of the following tasks and jobs:

Inspect parts per industry best practice.Support PPAP inspection requirementsCreate inspection plans and advise on inspection gage/process for mechanical parts, components, and assemblies.Inspect parts to ensure compliance with all specified requirements and complete and manage required documentation as applicable (FAI, PPK, etc.)Program and Operate the Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to inspect parts, components, and assemblies as required.Program and Operate, as applicable, the Optical Comparator (OGP), Faro Portable CMM, Hardness measurement equipment and other various inspection systems and gages.Maintain daily 5S and MetricsHelp maintain tier-2 quality documents (QSPs, QCPs, etc.)Work with SQE, QE, and ME controlling and dispositioning non-conforming product—Discrepant Material and Rework Order (DMRO)Ensure that DMROs are written for all nonconforming materialCommunicate with suppliers regarding inspection findings, as requiredPerform functions in Oracle, Microsoft Access, Excel, and OutlookProvide technician support for the Supplier Quality Engineers as required.  May include data collection, document filing and/or other quality related activitiesCorrelate data, update daily and weekly internal quality metrics and/or inspection resultsParticipate in daily Gemba or Go-and-See production meetings

Two-year degree in a related area is preferredMinimum four years’ experience in related field is requiredPrior experience in an inspection department or with in process inspection tools and methods preferred, but not requiredCNC machine programming and operation experience preferred.Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) experience preferred.Should have knowledge of drawings, specifications, and wiring diagrams.Experience and knowledge of inspection techniques, tools, materials and equipmentMust have experience with and knowledge of basic hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other mechanical measurement devicesStrong technical background is required to troubleshootUse of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the failure mode of the productRequires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detailMust have good communication and computer skillsMicrosoft Excel, Access, and Outlook experience requiredMust be self-directed and able to work well in a team environmentMust have basic understanding and usage of electrical test equipmentMust be able to read and work to blueprints and work instructions

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work-related hazards include moving heavy motors, using high voltage, and working with chemicals. Working on the plant floor requires wearing common protective and safety equipment.
