Quality Champion - Architectural & Finishing

*This position can be based out of Cleveland, OH or Atlanta, GA*

 

The Quality Champion – Architectural & Finishing will support the Ease of Doing Business with our customers through the continuous improvement of delivered product quality. 

Essential Duties

Plant Support – Quality & Process

Training & coaching the implementation & disciplined use of core quality system elements SalesForce Case Management & Complaint Response Control Plans, Specifications Test Methods & Evaluation Quarantine Protocols Trident, QDMS, SharePoint, & other QMS platforms, including basic system usage, detailed configuration, & data extraction Education on the quality aspects of finished products in the eyes of our chain of customers, including applications & installation Facilitating the use of structured problem-solving tools to permanently address external customer complaint problems, and internal sources of variation that lead to manufacturing of defective products Aiding in data gathering & detailed analysis to inform the setting of priorities, flagging of variation, resolution of problems, or anything needed by sites to successfully address problems, sustainably Act as a bridge between the various central functions (R&D, Purchasing, Marketing, Sales) and the sites, helping to translate high level objectives into tangible action plans to achieve Direct involvement in the investigation & resolution of major complaint issues, as needed

Auditing & Assessment

Primary leader of the organization & execution of Quality Step 0 activities, which assess the health of plant level quality systems & the usage thereof to prevent defective products from reaching customers Primary leader of the organization & execution of Process Step 0 activities, which help flag operational & manufacturing issues that are the underlying drivers of variability that lead to the production of defects Steward of change management systems, ensuring that risks related to major changes (raw material, machinery, process, personnel, policies, specifications, etc) are flagged, assessed, & mitigated to support successful execution at all levels)

Learning & Development

Primary trainer for any new plant quality managers & related resources Through the L&D team, create detailed & rationalized training curricula to shorten the time needed to gain competency in the performance of quality related roles

Advanced Manufacturing

Lead efforts to evolve quality management approaches from mostly finished product/destructive testing to active monitoring & control of upstream process variables Partner with other central functions in the selection, vetting, implementation, & integration of new sensing/measuring technologies

Roadmap Development & Strategy

Create/Update 3 Year Route Maps that identify the key systems work needed to continuously improve Champion the execution of the projects listed in the 3 year route maps Direct the business overall Measurement Evolution strategy to secure the time & resources to adopt improved approaches & technologies that improve overall quality & process management
