ABOUT THE JOB (JOB BRIEF)

This is a position within the Banking Group Portfolio Management Team (BGPM) responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager with the identification, measurement, and management of risk; gap analysis for business/vendor process to support Key’s Corporate Credit Policy, reporting, training and testing to fulfill Commercial strategic objectives while operating within defined appetite specific to Credit Risk. Additional responsibilities include assisting the QC Manager with monthly test review, promoting accountability for the awareness and management of risk; identifying and tracking risk trends for communication with the line of business/2nd line Credit Risk Management, escalation of high-risk issues in a timely fashion to the QC Manager, while maintaining a general working knowledge of risks/regulations associated with the business. Candidate must be able to perform duties independently. This position will also be supporting the management of the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) process on behalf of BGPM. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform weekly, monthly and quarterly assessments for control effectiveness with the ability to understand and identify weaknesses and/or control gaps in the Commercial Credit process

Assist the line of business to identify gaps in new procedures; provide clarity and consistency to the Commercial Credit process at Key

Assist Manager in providing overall monitoring and oversight of risk, control and compliance activities

Identify and report unidentified layered risk within the loan approval supporting Key’s 0 tolerance for fraud

Track and disposition defects in testing which require follow-up to prevent negative client impact

Build and sustain positive working relationships with Credit Campus, Credit Risk, and offshore Portfolio Vendor while developing an understanding of the business and strategic objectives

Assist in the execution of supplementary reviews and assessments as warranted to proactively identify risks and/or maintain control design/monitoring sustainability.

Work with the Quality Control Manager to identify needs for ad hoc testing

Understand the end-to-end process of the Commercial origination process

Maintain a working knowledge of business procedures specific to Underwriting and Portfolio Management

Assist Quality Control teammates with testing as needed

                                                        

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

2+ years commercial underwriting, portfolio management, or audit experience

Banking industry knowledge and experience in Underwriting or Portfolio Management with working knowledge of compliance, audit, risk management or line of business

Strong organization skills and ability to manage multiple high-level projects and competing priorities with little supervision

Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, build and manage relationships, and work in a dynamic, fast paced team environment

Proficient use of personal computers including use of Microsoft Office, Excel, various web-based software applications, databases and mainframe application

Preferred understanding of nCino, Share point

Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, decision making and ability to drive continuous improvement

Understanding of commercial banking businesses and processes, and related federal and laws, regulations and guidance

Demonstrate teamwork and accountability with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with external and internal clients including executive managers, along with building and sustaining collaborative relationships

Solid written and communication skills and ability to “sell” difficult/complex concepts

Strength in organization, time management, and prioritization skills

Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

Positive attitude, team oriented, ability to work under pressure, adapt quickly to change
