Responsibilities:
- You will inspect, test and evaluate finished products and services, including items and material received from commercial vendors and assemblies built in-house
- Perform processes audits for compliance with instructions, procedures, standards, contracts, and regulations
- Assess if corrective measure were completed to standard
- Maintain completed work instructions/test procedures and inspection procedures.
- Perform documentation reviews for completed integration/testing activities. Perform Observation of integration/testing activities.
- Review and provide recommendations to quality procedures, maintain records and create various reports
-Interface with customers, departments, and division to provide world class solutions
Duties for this position are in production, integration and testing environment where extended periods of standing and/or sitting are required. Hazardous materials, such as alcohol, cleaning fluids, and conformal coatings are used in this work environment. This career requires use of a computer and desktop applications where extended periods of sitting are required. The selected candidate will be required to wear approved safety shoes plus other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
The hourly rate for this position is set by the Dept of Labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $28.79 (Tech III) / $35.64 (Tech IV). Job leveling will be determined at the time of interview.
This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
**Required Education, Experience, & Skills**
High school diploma and at least 6 years of experience working with electronic systems OR High school diploma and 2 years of college, vocational school or military training in advanced electronic theory
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience in interpreting drawings, schematics, part specification sheets, process sheets or Engineering Change Orders
Excellent problem solving skills
Exposure to quality audits
Experience writing discrepancy reports
Experience with MS Office applications
Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management System Standard or Lean Six Sigma
Experience using small hand tools
Experience using calibrated measuring tools such as micrometers, dial gauges and calipers
Ability to exert physical energy (lift no more than 39 lbs. and climb ladders)
Thru-hole and surface mount CCA certification
**Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills**
Air Traffic Control Systems maintenance and repair experience
Military Radar Systems maintenance and repair experience
Solder certification
Cable fabrication certification
Fiber Optic fabrication certification
Exposure to Internal and External Auditing
Experience with process compliance audits
Certified Quality Assurance Inspector
Prior military experience
**Pay Information**
This position is covered by a wage law called the McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA). The wage range for this position is determined by the Wage and Hour Division of the Department of Labor on a contract-by-contract basis.
