Position Description: Voyager Space is looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for aerospace to join our Expendable Launch Vehicle Integrated Support (ELVIS 3) contract based at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) FL.  Candidate will provide Quality Engineering support for our NASA customer at KSC, as well as supporting the KSC ELVIS 3 Safety & Quality Office in their responsibilities. The candidate shall consistently provide exceptional products/services that always meet or exceed customer expectations.

 

Responsibilities: 

The candidate will be required to perform quality engineering services as required to support NASA Launch Services Program (LSP) Safety & Mission Assurance (SMA) processes including but not limited to: 

Evaluation of commercial launch provider’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all associated sub-systemsEvaluate and provide feedback on launch provider's nonconformance and corrective/preventative actions systems Participate in, and provide quality engineering analysis for NASA certification processes for new or upgraded hardwareSupport flight hardware Mission Success Reviews (MSRs) and Hardware Acceptance Reviews (HARs)Provide launch site production floor insight for flight hardware processing; shift and/or weekend work occasionally required to support launch integration activitiesSupport launch campaign efforts, including readiness assessments and reviewsParticipate in various audits of commercial launch provider’s QMS (e.g., supplier, internal, AS9100 3rd party) as requiredAssist the NASA S&MA office with identifying safety concerns while monitoring commercial launch provider processesEffectively prepare and present independent technical assessments to peers and management

 

 

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing/production engineeringDesire 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or manufacturing/production engineeringUnderstanding of quality engineering functions to include: QMS/AS9100/ISO 9001Material Requirements Planning SystemsRequirements TraceabilityExperience in causal analysisTest & evaluations systems/techniquesSupplier Quality/Supplier AuditingConfiguration ManagementExcellent oral and written communication skillsEffective technical writing, problem solving, and engineering analysis abilitiesExcellent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)Able to establish sound working relationships with peers and management Able to establish solid working relationships with Launch Service Contractors (LSC) and work collaboratively with LSCs and industry partners  Have effective analytical and problem-solving skillsAble to organize and prioritize work, be proactive, take initiative and simultaneously manage multiple priorities to ensure goals are met in a timely mannerBe willing to travel
